Agricultural Conservation Technician

The Lancaster County Conservation District is seeking qualified individuals to fill a full-time Ag Technician position. This position requires excellent organization, communication and technical skills. Applicants who are self –motivated, detail oriented and able to learn quickly should apply. The successful applicants will be responsible for completing delegated duties for the District’s agricultural programs. Technicians will review nutrient management plans, perform annual on-farm status reviews, evaluate farm operations to determine conservation needs, develop plans to address resource needs and then assist operators with the implementation of conservation practices to address the identified needs.

Minimum qualifications are:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, Animal Science or related environmental studies preferred
  • Valid drivers license and personal vehicle
  • Ability to traverse rough terrain

Compensation: Starting Salary $40,000 – $44,000 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package including healthcare and a retirement plan. Plus a $2,400 signing bonus
