Conservation Best Management Practice (BMP) Verification Coordinator

The Lancaster County Conservation District has an opening for a BMP Verification Coordinator for Conservation Best Management Practices (BMP). Responsibilities for this new position will include
conducting farm and field inspections to evaluate, catalog and report if Conservation BMPs are functioning as designed and implemented. The ideal candidate for this position would be familiar with Agricultural and stream restoration BMPs, comfortable conducting field visits and discussing management practices with the landowner. Candidates must be professional in demeanor, analytical and self-motivated. Additional responsibilities are listed in the Job Description. This position is classified as an at-will exempt position and reports to the Assistant District Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year college degree. A degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, Animal Science or related environmental studies preferred. Background or experience in municipal work or research is a plus.
  • Candidates must be proficient in the suite of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Should be able to quickly grasp other software applications utilized by the District (e.g., PracticeKeeper, FieldDocs, CRM, Aquarius, etc.).
  • Experience using basic database tools such as Excel and Access are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, and personal vehicle.
  • Ability to traverse rough terrain.

Starting Salary:

A starting salary of $50,000-$52,000 Commensurate with training and experience is being offered as well as an excellent benefits package (Healthcare for employee and a family with a generous
HSA, Employer matched Pension Plan, Liberal time off policies, Phone and Clothing allowances, etc.) Additionally, a $2,400 signing bonus is paid within 30 days of employment and after completing a satisfactory probationary period.
