Director of Landscape and Maintenance

The TTF Watershed Partnership (TTF) is a community environmental organization committed to the care and protection of the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Creek, and its surrounding public spaces.

TTF is seeking to hire a Director to lead our maintenance and landscape efforts within Tacony Creek Park and throughout the TTF Watershed. We welcome applications from all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation.

As a member of TTF’s leadership team, the Director of Landscape and Maintenance will lead and grow TTF’s workforce development program in partnership with PowerCorpsPHL and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, and will oversee a maintenance workforce of 6 – 8 members. Under the Director’s leadership, these maintenance crews will manage trash and litter, remove invasive plants, and manage green stormwater infrastructure and native plant restoration projects.

The Director will also be responsible for the acquisition of the tools, equipment, and vehicles needed to execute these projects, and the creation and implementation of thorough maintenance protocols for Tacony Creek Park and for all TTF vehicles and equipment. Lastly, the Director will serve as TTF’s point person for the development of an expanded operational headquarters at the Scattergood Foundation Campus, adjacent to Tacony Creek Park.

REQUIREMENTS:

– Minimum 8 years of experience in public space management, forestry, land care, facilities management or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years on-the-ground management experience
– Ability to lead partnership work with external organizations, community groups, and municipal departments
– Skills and willingness to lead and grow a workforce development program and provide mentorship and training to a young, inexperienced team.
– Experience with the operation and maintenance of equipment such as chainsaws, augers, brush mowers, and other landcare equipment
– Ability to work in racially and culturally diverse urban setting
– Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
– Spanish Language proficiency is a plus
– Ecological, arborist, or forestry experience is a plus

SALARY & SCHEDULE:

$75,000 to $85,000 annually depending on experience.
Full-time permanent position, 40 hour in-person work week, with flex time.
Occasional weekend and evening hours required.
