Executive Director

Manada Conservancy

Manada Conservancy, a dynamic land trust preserving land in South Central Pennsylvania for nearly 25 years, is seeking an Executive. The Conservancy is expanding as we execute our new strategic plan and finalize our new development plan. We are a non-profit organization, funded by our members, by contributions, and by grants.

The Conservancy, which has protected ~2500 acres in Dauphin County, has a strong land preservation, environmental education, and community engagement mission. The Executive Director is a full-time position that will shape and execute this plan, work with existing staff, and build on our impact in the region. Our guiding principles include:

  • A personal connection with nature
  • Conserving irreplaceable resources
  • Restoring natural environments
  • Fulfilling our promises to future generations
  • Building awareness
  • Seeking collaboration
  • Engaging all authentically and respectfully

Reporting to the volunteer Board of Directors and the President, the Executive Director will lead the Conservancy’s operations, with ultimate authority and responsibility for the successful execution of Board-approved projects, activities, and events. The responsibilities are 50% Operational Oversight and 50% Communication and Development. Oversight includes coordination of new and existing projects with our Stewardship Director and our newly hired Land Preservation Director. A Bachelor’s degree, at least five years of experience related to land preservation/habitat restoration/land stewardship, leadership experience in fundraising and development, and at least three years of experience in a supervisory role are strongly preferred.

This position includes a competitive compensation package ($65-70K annually based on qualifications and experience), healthcare and retirement benefits, flexible hours, and a friendly, caring, and inclusive work environment.
