S.A.V.E. (Safety, Agriculture, Villages, & Environment, Inc.)

S.A.V.E. (Safety, Agriculture, Villages & Environment, Inc.) is on a mission to preserve the quality of life and community character of southern Chester County, Pennsylvania, through Smart Growth principles that support safe transportation, agriculture, villages & the environment. We’re looking for a highly skilled, part-time person to provide contract services to assist the Board of Directors with the executive functions of the organization. The candidate will utilize his or her skill-set to implement the goals and objectives of the S.A.V.E. board.

Objectives of this Role

  • Work closely with the Board, informing, assessing, and addressing issues that affect the organization
  • Oversee the daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction of all program strategy, compliance, quality assurance, and program efficiency
  • Represent the organization and increase awareness by being the spokesperson and liaison with local media, municipal officials, and the southern Chester County community
  • Develop an actionable plan for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local legislation

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Oversee all external communication materials including, website, marketing materials, email and social media content
  • Serve as the face of the organization and actively participate in external events, both increasing visibility, credibility, and brand in the market, and developing strategic partnerships in order to increase community awareness and expand the program
  • Coordinate the annual speaker event, and any other events at the direction of the Board
  • Organize and attend all Board meetings and provide reports and updates on all current work, project timelines, and project and organizational progress
  • Establish goals, objectives, and operational plans in collaboration with the Board
  • Manage the financial integrity of the organization, including submission to the Board of an annual budget and monthly statements, coordination of outsourced bookkeeping and accounting services, and all other financial activities as needed
  • Set and meet annual fundraising goals, in partnership with the Board, to secure financial support from individual donors, foundations, corporations, and government funding sources as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management or related non-profit field preferred
  • Leadership experience, preferably with a nonprofit
  • Strong public relations, marketing, and fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of management principles related to nonprofits
  • Proven success working with a board of directors
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well with media, municipal officials, and the community
  • Experience in fiscal management and budgeting
