Manada Conservancy’s Outreach Specialist will engage potential, new, and existing Manada members by promoting activities and messaging via print, digital media and in-person engagement at community events.

The specialist will promote organizational activities, initiatives, advocacy, and events and prepare the materials associated with outreach events. They will create print and digital marketing pieces, post promotions to digital outlets (social media, web, etc.) and physical locations (community gathering places, green spaces, etc.), and engage in innovative communications and coordination with communities where Manada is active.

This is a part-time non-exempt position with a hourly rate of $21-$23 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Average work week will consist of 20 hours with flexible scheduling. This is not a remote position and is supervised by the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Produces website updates, social media posts, mass emailing & press releases
  • Produces quarterly MC newsletter preparation and mailing
  • Reports monthly engagement from web traffic, Mailchimp and social media
  • Coordinates bulk mailings. Issues renewal letters, thank you letters, and other correspondence relating to membership and fundraising
  • Attends monthly Communication & Development Committee meeting as staff member
  • Primary volunteer coordinator
  • Maintains and manages volunteer database.
  • Works with Volunteer Placement Coordinator regarding new volunteers
  • Formats and edits Conservancy documents. Creates consistent style within files.
  • Manages Little Green Light (LGL) donor database
  • Records donations
  • Maintains donor contact information, non-member contacts, mailing list and other contact lists.
  • Creates monthly donor and membership reports
  • Works to improve Manada’s use of LGL
  • Event coordination/logistics support including but not limited to native plant sales, education programs, membership and volunteer appreciation events, outreach and fundraising activities.
  • Coordinates and produces publicity/promotion for events
  • Attends events or coordinates volunteers to attend, set up, staff, tear down at events
  • Provides materials, supplies, equipment from the office as needed

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of communication platforms and 1-3 years’ experience in a communications role preferred
  • Prior professional experience posting and promoting original, engaging content on social media preferred
  • Prior non-profit conservation experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Adobe Products (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Express), Canva, and/or similar.
  • Excellent verbal & written communications
  • Ability to travel by automobile to meetings, events, and Manada properties. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 (i.e. Word, Teams)
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required
