PennDOT recently announced the opening of applications for the 2023 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside of the Surface Block Grant Program.
The grants provide funding for projects that:
- Enhance pedestrian and bicycle facilities
- Improve access to public transportation
- Create safe routes to schools
- Preserve historic transportation structures
- Provide environmental mitigation
- Create trails that serve a transportation purpose
- Promote safety and mobility
PennDOT grants are typically eligible as match for DCNR grants.
Draft applications are due by Monday, July 17 for district review. After review, final applications are due Friday, September 15.
