We’re just a few weeks away from celebrating our 33rd annual National Trails Day® on June 7th!
There’s still time to register your event and be part of this nationwide celebration of trails, stewardship, and outdoor connection.
Each year, federal land managers and partners just like you host hundreds of events on public lands across the country, engaging tens of thousands of participants and trail volunteers — and we’d love to have you included in this year’s celebration!
Why Register?
Registering a National Trails Day® event is a great way to:
- Reach new visitors and trail users in your community
- Promote stewardship of public lands and trails
- Boost awareness and participation with support from American Hiking
Registering Your Event Is Free and Easy!
We understand that staffing capacity can be a challenge, and we appreciate everything you do to support trails and outdoor spaces.
Even low-lift events make a big impact — and registering only takes a few minutes. Whether you’re planning a volunteer project, a guided hike, or a self-guided trail experience, registering your event helps connect your efforts to the national celebration and brings more awareness and support to your trails.

We Have Event Host Resources Available
Need a hand planning or promoting your event? We’ve got you covered:
- Download the Event Host Guide
- Access the Promotional Toolkit
- Encourage your community to take the National Trails Day® Pledge and leave the trails better than they found them!
Even if hosting a staffed event isn’t feasible this year, there are still many impactful ways to join in on the celebration:
- Highlight a self-guided trail activity or interpretive walk
- Encourage independent trail clean-ups, or other activities that allow visitors to engage with your trail without requiring staff on-site
- Schedule a post on social media for Saturday, June 7th thanking Trail Stewards for supporting trails and public lands
- Promote the National Trails Day® Pledge in your newsletters or email lists
Thank you for all you do to support public lands and trails. We understand the capacity constraints you’re navigating — and we’re so grateful for your partnership in helping people across the country connect with, care for, and celebrate our trail systems.
Please let us know if you have any questions or if we can support your event planning in any way. You can reach us at ntd@americanhiking.org.
See you on the trails!
Note: If your event plans change between now and June 7, you can edit your event details within the event host portal at any time.
