French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust has finalized a voluntary conservation agreement with long-time supporters and East Nantmeal residents George and Martha Edwards. The Edwards generously donated an easement on their 4.6-acre West Vincent Township property to French & Pickering, ensuring it will be preserved in perpetuity. This parcel sits near the headwaters of Beaver Run and within the French Creek Watershed, further bolstering local land and water conservation efforts.

Mr. & Mrs. Edwards with French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust board president, Jen Trachtman and Conservation Director, Karl Russek.

“While this parcel is small, it is highly visible from the busy Route 100 corridor and fills a key gap in an existing patchwork of protected land,” noted Karl Russek, Conservation Director of French & Pickering. “In such a rapidly developing area, every acre matters.”

This property joins the over 13,500 acres of fields, farms, and forests already protected by French & Pickering, its partners, and landowners in northern Chester County. French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust is thankful for the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards and for the opportunity to protect this open space.

Since 1967, French & Pickering has protected more than 13,500 acres in northern Chester County through purchases, conservation easements and public/private partnerships. The non-profit organization works with landowners, townships, foundations and the state and county to purchase and monitor conservation easements, create parkland, and preserve environmentally sensitive land.
