PennDot District 1 is seeking to improve biking conditions in Crawford, Erie, Mercer, Forest, Warren, and Venango counties.
A project team led by Gannett Fleming and Traffic Planning & Design is in the process of conducting a Bicycle Study to determine which state roads are regularly used for bicycling and how the maintenance activities for these roads could better support bicycle use.
PennDot District 1 will utilize the bike study results in determining the adjustment of its road maintenance efforts. PennDot has noted that all adjustments will need to be made in the context of current transportation funding conditions.
Feedback can be provided through the following:
Feedback Map for Core Bicycle Network – An interactive map of the Preliminary Core Bicycle Network that will allow you to edit the map directly to suggest improvements.
Public Survey – A survey to help PennDot prioritize various maintenance practices in order to improve bicycling conditions.
All comments and feedback are due by June 8.
