Lancaster Farmland Trust (LFT) announced that it has added The Gehr Farm of Clay & West Cocalico Township to their growing list of preserved farms. The landowners signed the conservation easement, officially preserving their 51-acre farm forever.
The Gehr Farm grows corn, hay, wheat, and barley. The land runs along over 2,000 feet of road, providing beautiful views to those who pass by.
This farm was critical land to preserve as the farm has been on LFT’s waiting list since 2015. With preservation of The Gher Farm, LFT has preserved 538 farms and 33,098 acres.
