The North Country Trail Association is delighted to announce its first-ever land purchase [Beaver River Property] to further our goal of permanently protecting the North Country National Scenic Trail and its surrounding landscape.

A landowner near Wampum, Pennsylvania agreed to sell approximately 8 acres to the NCTA, helping secure permanent protection for the trail near the Beaver River.

Without this land, nearly four miles of existing trail would need to be relocated. This project protects 900 feet of existing North Country Trail, ensuring continued access for hikers.

It will also conserve the same amount of natural frontage on the Beaver River, an important natural and recreational resource.

As a permanently protected section of the North Country Trail, our Wampum Chapter volunteers will strive to provide trail users with a wonderful experience here.
