The U.S. Forest Service (U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service) is accepting public review and comment on the Morrison and Powerhouse Trail Systems improvements project, in the Bradford Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest.

The Morrison project area is located within the Morrison Trail System southeast of Warren, Pennsylvania, and will include approximately three miles of new trail. The entire project area is on National Forest System lands.

The Morrison proposal will establish a new trail loop. The proposed three-mile segment traverses the plateau within the existing Morrison Trail System. It consists of non-motorized trail construction consistent with Trail Class 3 Bicycle Trail parameters and will involve the removal of a minimal number of six-inch or smaller diameter trees. The Trail Class 3 Bicycle Trail parameters include a design tread width of 18 to 36 inches, a design grade of 3% to 10%, a target cross slope of three to eight percent, and a design turn radius of four to eight feet.

The Powerhouse project area is located between the Bradford Ranger District office and the Powerhouse Historic Site, southwest of Bradford, Pennsylvania, and will include approximately 1.5 miles of new trail. The entire project area is on National Forest System lands.

The Powerhouse proposal will establish a new trail connecting the Bradford Ranger District Office with the Powerhouse Historic Site. The proposed 1.5-mile segment would connect two frequently visited sites and offer a premier hiking experience. It consists of non-motorized trail construction consistent with Trail Class 2 Hiking Trail parameters and will involve the removal of a minimal number of six-inch or smaller diameter trees. The Trail lass 2 Hiking Trail parameters include a design tread width of 12 to 18 inches, a design grade of 3% to 15%, a target cross slope of three to ten percent, and a design turn radius of two to eight feet.
