About Foundation for Pennsylvania Waterways

The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds (FPW) is a grant-making foundation that invests in local efforts to protect healthy natural streams, clean-up and restore degraded streams, and advocate for Pennsylvania’s extensive water resources.

Pennsylvania’s rivers are expansive, covering 86,000 miles. Some are pristine. Others are highly polluted. Through our grantmaking, we assist conservation organizations in achieving their restoration goals, while ensuring enough clean water for future generations of Pennsylvania children, families and wildlife. Our ethos is to protect the best of the best and restore the worst of the worst.

Since our inception in 1995, we have provided matching funds to leverage local, state, and federal resources. We provide private matching grant funds to both small and large groups throughout most of the Commonwealth (we currently do not service areas east of the Susquehanna River).
