I wanted to share an ongoing project that Bethlehem’s EAC is working on. Our Green Committee (a subcommittee within the EAC) is planting native perennials at a local pocket park, Madison Park, that is in much need of some greenery.

We were able to secure a grant from PA Native Plant Society to cover the cost of the plants.

We gathered Saturday, 4/15, with some neighbors to prepare the soil for planting in September.

Along the border on two sides of the park, we laid down cardboard and spread compost on top.

We will also be posting signs around the park informing neighbors of the benefits of planting natives.
