Limerick Township announced that the Township is a recipient of a $60,000 MontCo 2040 Implementation Grant for the completion of a connecting segment of trail along the PECO right-of-way that will extend the trail from Limerick Center Road to the existing trailhead near Reed Road.

Additionally, the Township has begun construction of a second segment of trail between S. Limerick Road and Royersford Road. Once these two trail segments are complete, they will provide 2.4 miles of multi-use, ADA compliant, trail that will span from Limerick Center Road to Royersford Road. It is the long-range plan to a create trail connections to the Freedom Valley YMCA trail network from Limerick Community Park and into neighboring townships with ultimate connections to the Perkiomen and the Schuylkill River Regional Trails.

Limerick Township wishes to thank the Montgomery County Commissioners and the MontCo 2040 Implementation Grant Committee in awarding this grant and supporting Limerick Township’s pursuit to provide its residents and the surrounding communities opportunities to safely exercise, live healthier lifestyles, and enjoy the great outdoors!
