Three members of WeConservePA staff joined Manada Conservancy for their annual Kayak Paddle down the Swatara Creek on Thursday, August 1 from 8:30AM – 11:30AM. The event connects Conservancy staff, board members, and other partners in preservation for a leisurely paddle down the Boathouse Run section of the Swatara, while highlighting the importance of open space preservation and riparian corridor protection to water quality.

Participants were treated to views of wildlife, including egrets, herons, and turtles, and wildflowers, as well as an appearance by the resident Bald Eagle, nesting along the creek.  “Manada Conservancy is fortunate to have many partners who generously contribute to the Conservancy’s success.” Says executive director, Will Dingman, “We were pleased to provide this opportunity to thank them and to give them an opportunity to interact with like-minded supporters of land protection.”

Thank you again Manada Conservancy for the invitation!
