June 4 Single use Plastics coalition meeting - join us for this virtual information and support event

The Southeasttern PA Single Use Plastics Coalition is an information and support group for Pa EAC’s . We will be having our next virtual open meeting on June 4th, Tuesday evening from 7pm to 815/830.

The group is focused on reducing plastic waste by helping townships enact single use plastic bag bans, and then going further the work on straws on request, utensils on request and banning styrofoam. Many other tangential issues around waste are also discussed. If you or your EAC has been looking to tackle the issue of single use plastic waste, then this is the group for you.

The group is composed of mostly Environmental Advisory Committee representatives from 50 -60 different townships in bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware counties, though we encourage and have members from elsewhere in PA as well.

The first part of the meeting is devoted to new townships, and their issues working with their local government, and community. We have a lot or resources including a How-to guidebook, examples of township presentations, surveys, posters and fact sheets, and a large FAQ section. The later part of the meetings include presentations and discussions of various pertinent issues including an update from Penn Environment.
